FAQS

The Score Estimator gives only an indicative band range purely based on your current English skill level and does not factor in your ability to answer the question types and format.  It cannot be used to predict the exact score you will receive on test day because it’s not the same format in terms of exam questions and length.

For a more comprehensive understanding of your likely band score, we recommend  completing a mock test where you will receive an indicative band score range and detailed Speaking and Writing feedback from an E2 expert assessor.

The personalised study pathway will give advice on where best to focus your study efforts.

Allow around 15 minutes to complete the test.

The Score Estimator will provide an indicative CEFR Level and indicate Band Range for your selected test (IELTS, PTE, OET, TOEFL and TOEIC).

Your performance in the test is based on the CEFR and then mapped to an indicative band score.

CEFR stands for Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.  Our tool works to this standard and then converts your score to a IELTS/PTE/OET/TOEFL/TOEIC equivalent.

The Score Estimator is designed to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses so that you can streamline your study journey and take the stress out of test preparation.

It  is based purely on your English proficiency and doesn’t include your knowledge of the test layout or structure.  It’s essential to complete the course material to understand the test format, practise answering questions under time pressure across all four skill areas.

No, the score estimator can only be taken once, you will not be able to retake the test.  If you would like to further improve your skills, we recommend taking a Mock Test.  The Mock is just like the real test, scored and timed the same way.  Plus you will receive a band score range and detailed feedback from an expert teacher in 48 hours.

That’s where E2 can help you.  The test will help organise your study plans allowing you to focus on the necessary areas for improvement.  View the details on the Study Pathway to know where you should focus your efforts to improve your skills.

E2 has a range of packages giving you access to live classes, practise questions, mock tests, tutorials and assessments. Self study is easy with E2 and our teachers are there to help you improve your challenging areas.
